Ernie Marlan

Ernie Marlan's passion for fishing was ignited at a young age, growing up in Alameda, a small island in the Bay Area. Raised in a fishing family, Ernie spent his childhood reeling in salmon, halibut, sturgeon, sharks, and striped bass in the San Francisco Bay. This early exposure sparked a lifelong devotion to striper fishing, which remains a favorite pursuit.

Today, Ernie's fishing adventures take him to various destinations, including the ocean, rivers, California Delta, and lakes. His versatility as an angler is evident in the range of species he targets, from sturgeon, tuna, and salmon to largemouth and smallmouth bass, striped bass, and trout.

A respected figure in the outdoor community, Ernie regularly shares his expertise as a featured speaker at seminars throughout the year. His fishing reports have also been broadcast on ESPN Radio 970AM out of Stockton, California.

In addition to his on-water pursuits, Ernie has built a successful career as an outdoor sporting goods sales representative with a territory that consists of California, Nevada, Arizona, and Hawaii.

Ernie and his wife Amy share a love for the outdoors with fishing being a favorite activity. They have four children: Jack, Claire, Abby, and Andrew, who are now grown, with three in college and Andrew serving in the Air Force.
